This unusual creature is our Cat Milly. Aged 14 she has an annual clip because she gets matted... Her tail looks like a feather duster and she has socks on...
She looks rather weird for a few weeks until her fur begin to grow back....

Fabrics and Photos

These are some of the fabrics i bought a few days ago.... They are just delicious

I'm finally home and working in the shed.
It's 2.45 am in San Jose, but 9.15 pm here so I'm doing well.

Grand Daughter, miss Tilly is delighted to have found me in the 'shed' when she arrived home from day care today. Her smile was worth coming home for.

We  had a drama on board last night that was a little unsettling. A young woman collapsed and they had to do CPR right by my feet.

Fortunately there was a Dr on board and he stabilized her, but it was a little unnerving.

As I mentioned yesterday, I had the opportunity to do a little shopping thanks to the hospitality of Santa Clara Valley Quilt Association. Ronnie introduced me to the wonderful shops in Los Gatos surprise, surprise, we found a quilt shop.

I did get a bit of a shock when several girls bought their dogs into the shop....!!! rather civilized really.

I'm going home.

I can't believe that I have no more classes for at least 2 months....I feel a bit disappointed that my teaching year has come to an end. It's been wonderful. I really couldn't have asked for a better year.
I'm sitting here in the San Fransisco airport overlooking a sea of lights as I wait to board the plane home.
I block out everything around me with beautiful music and I can retreat into a world of my own.....
2 months away from teaching  doesn't mean I won't be working, in fact I have taken on a huge load.... 2 fabric lines, two books, a few magazine articles and the editing of the documentaries....and of course the major project...!!!!!
But the prospect is exciting.... I get to sleep in my own bed for a while.
Spend time with the family, lay on the settee late into the night....eat bread and Vegemite and live in t'shirts and shorts..... and I have designed quite a few new classes that need to be sampled.
I've had a wonderful few days here in Santa Clara.... We had a large crowd for the presentation and the class was great....
You may know that I'm and apple junkie (computer that is). San Jose is the home of Apple and I visited a store today and got to see the main headquarters of the Apple Organization.
Strange what excites us really.
I was taken on a last minute shopping spree today and I managed to fit a dinosaur, wonderful fabric, some vintage wallpaper sheets, ate great mexican food and purchased some new programs into the already over packed bags.

Just who is "Anybody"?

At a lecture today I met a lady who made the comment.... "I remember you before you were anybody"?

Well really just who is "Anybody", what does that mean?

It was a nice comment, and let me to share with you the reflective Notebook I have been writing over the past few months which relates to the subject of "Anybody"

It's been a long day.

I finished some illustrations on the plane and arrived in San Jose after 3 plane flights. It's been a long day....

I photographed the dry earth of El Paso and the dancing lights of San Jose....

I soon realized that no journey carries one far unless, as it extends into the world around us, it goes an equal distance into the world within.

The places we work in.

Been up since 4.30 and I'm now in the airport in El Paso Texas.

I've always been taken by the carpet here, two bright green lizards entwined......

I'm  crunched up in a corner standing at a high table... it's the only place I can get a power point. I'm facing a bright blue green wall and I can't hear a thing because the fridge next to me is making such a racket... the vibration is going through the floor and the bottles of liquid are jiggling at their posts..
I don't think I will last long in this position. Just long enough to charge the battery.!!!!!

The coffee tasted like cardboard, so it's found it's way into the bin and I reflect on the fact that it's sad leaving friends, however, the email and phone are always part of our lives now so, I have 3 flights and a day of traveling to California...friends are sadly left behind.
