Four years ago this week I was in South Africa...

I came directly to Michigan and I needed to share a little of my experience with my friends here...

We began each day with these warm up exercises...

Now it's become part of the Pam Holland experience....

I thought you might like to share this video... I like it.

So much for walking the Mall.... I think I have a broken bone in my foot....

It throbbed all night.... it's swollen and more painful tonight... so I'm icing it...

But still, I had an interesting time.... I joined the 1000's of teenagers (mainly girls) who came to see Zac Efron..... I don't even know who he is, some Mothers son I figure....

I chatted to some of the lovelies who arrived outside the door of the mall at 6.00 am this morning...and still didn't get close... They were the nicest kids...

Well, I heard him anyway....he sounded OK....

I decided to add a little color to the hair... now I don't look like me...

I had the nails done, and the assistants kept running outside to check on Zac.... It was an interesting day.

Michigan tomorrow...

Then I'm off to Arkansas....  I couldn't even find a travel book on Arkansas in Barnes and Noble... what is it with this state.?

The power of the weather.

I just woke to the news that 35 tornadoes

hit Minnesota late yesterday. The town, not too far from where I spent a lot of time has been devastated.

A small storm whipped through here yesterday afternoon, whitecaps rolled across the lake and it's still quite windy outside...

I have a day to explore today. I'm visiting a quilter and going to film in the town.

Then I hope to do some designing.

Kenora Canada.... situated on the Lake of the Woods.

Lake of the Woods (French: lac des Bois) is a lake occupying parts of the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Manitoba and the U.S. state of Minnesota.[1] It separates a small land area of Minnesota from the rest of the United States. The Northwest Angle and the town of Angle Inlet can only be reached from the rest of Minnesota by crossing the lake or by traveling through Canada. The Northwest Angle is the northernmost part of the contiguous United States.
Lake of the Woods is fed by the Rainy River, Shoal Lake, Kakagi Lake, and other smaller rivers. The lake drains into the Winnipeg River and then into Lake Winnipeg. Ultimately, its outflow goes north through the Nelson River to Hudson Bay.
Lake of the Woods is over seventy miles long and wide, and contains more than 14,552 islands and 65,000 miles (105,000 km) of shoreline. It would amount to the longest coastline of any Canadian lake, except that the lake is not entirely within Canada. Lake of the Woods is also the 6th largest freshwater lake located (at least partially) in the United States- after the five Great Lakes.

The lake's islands provide nesting habitat for the piping plover and large numbers of American white pelicans. There are also several hundred nesting pairs of bald eagles in this area.

How to illustrate fabric.

This is a video I did a while ago.

In fact, this was the sample piece for the Rhino... I wanted to work out if I could illustrate and then Quilt with mono filament thread  to just enhance the drawing.

This is the first part, I'll put the quilting part up later.

I did this drawing as I traveled. When I returned home I enlarged it on the computer and that's the picture you see in the video.

I made this video a little while ago, but I didn't  put it up on the blog, I could only link it then.

It's all the things I love about home and the work that I do.

Share my studio with me and the things I appreciate.

The music is important to me too. I play these two songs on my ipod 5 minutes before I teach each class.... I just slip away for a little while and shut my eyes and focus, they are a trigger and the music  directs me to the task at hand.... Teaching....!!!
