Bayeux Discipline

The past few days have been rather hectic, new baby arriving, babysitting, chauffeur duty and feeding the troops..... but I've tried hard to work my compulsory 6 hours a day on the Bayeux. Other projects have had to take a back seat.

I have a bit of a dilemma... You know when you are creating something you need to look at it in the entire piece to get it into perspective.

I pop things up on the design wall and stand back, and when I made the 1776 quilt, I didn't see it as a complete piece  until it was hung for photography.. Then I cried....!!

I really only saw it on the table because it was too big to hang in the studio and of course this quilt is the same, it's rolled up all the time for handling.

Last trip round it was easier to view it because each piece was 9 ft long.

Have I got the color correct?

Does it all balance?

Have I missed something.?

So today I figured that if I put it on the line, I could rotate it and get a better idea.

Then I laid it out on the back block.... EEEk!!!!

It was great to see it in this form... the colors are fine... the balance is good and I haven't missed anything....(well, I hope not)  If I keep going in the same vein it should be fine....

Tomorrow I have to create a castle... and I'll share the construction on my video diary on Sunday.
